Artisan's hands at the Lunburg atelier working on a paper prototype alongside watercolor design renderings, steel ruler, and cutting mat, the origination phase of a Sovereign Commission where vision takes its first physical form.

Lunburg Atelier Services

Lunburg Atelier Services develops and produces original leather goods for brands. Brands can work with us on the complete process or selected stages.

Discuss a product project

Start with an idea or a finished technical file

A project can begin with an idea, sketch, sample, reference product or technical file. We review what already exists, define what is still needed and agree on the stages Lunburg Atelier Services will manage.

We then translate the product idea into clear decisions about dimensions, function, materials, components, construction and finish. This gives the atelier a practical basis for prototype development and production.

Services for product development and production

If a brand already has an established design or technical specification, Lunburg Atelier Services can take responsibility for the relevant later stages. If the product is still an early idea, we can manage the full path from definition to delivery.

  1. Define the product

We clarify the product's use, dimensions, features and visual requirements.

  2. Resolve materials and construction

We define the leather, lining, reinforcements, thread, hardware and construction methods required for the product.

  3. Prototype and refine

We make development samples and refine proportions, function, construction, hardware and finish. An approved prototype sets the standard for production.

  4. Produce

The atelier makes the approved product using the agreed materials, patterns and construction.

  5. Inspect and deliver

We inspect materials and finished pieces, check them against the approved prototype, then prepare the order for delivery.

Wide view of the Lunburg atelier in Fes, with master artisans in white coats working at individual stations surrounded by wooden lasts, marble slabs, rempliage hammers, and traditional leatherworking tools, preserving twelve centuries of Fassi haute maroquinerie.

Leathercraft in Fes since 1968

Fes has twelve centuries of Fassi leathercraft. The family atelier behind Lunburg Atelier Services has operated there since 1968.

At Lunburg Atelier Services, product development is not separated from making. Our masters work together with our engineers to apply their construction knowledge throughout development and prototyping, ensuring that the approved design can be produced accurately and consistently.
