Artisan's hands at the Lunburg atelier working on a paper prototype alongside watercolor design renderings, steel ruler, and cutting mat, the origination phase of a Sovereign Commission where vision takes its first physical form.

Leather goods manufacturing in Morocco

Lunburg Atelier Services develops, prototypes and produces original leather goods for brands. The family atelier behind the service is in Fes, Morocco. Work with us on the complete process or selected stages.

Discuss a product project

Start with an idea or a finished technical file

Product categories include bags, small leather goods and travel goods. We assess each project according to its design, intended use, construction and fit with the atelier's skills.

A project can begin with an idea, sketch, sample, reference product or technical file. We review what already exists, define what is still needed and agree on the stages Lunburg Atelier Services will manage.

We then translate the product idea into clear decisions about dimensions, function, materials, components, construction and finish. This gives the atelier a practical basis for prototype development and production.

Services for product development and production

If a brand already has an established design or technical specification, Lunburg Atelier Services can take responsibility for the relevant later stages. If the product is still an early idea, we can manage the full path from definition to delivery.

  1. Define the product

We clarify the product's use, dimensions, features and visual requirements.

  2. Resolve materials and construction

We define the leather, lining, reinforcements, thread, hardware and construction methods required for the product.

  3. Prototype and refine

We make development samples and refine proportions, function, construction, hardware and finish. An approved prototype sets the standard for production.

  4. Produce

The atelier makes the approved product using the agreed materials, patterns and construction.

  5. Inspect and deliver

We inspect materials and finished pieces, check them against the approved prototype, then prepare the order for delivery.

Design inspiration

This is a selected overview, not a fixed catalogue. We assess each project according to its design, intended use, construction and fit with the atelier's skills.

Wide view of the Lunburg atelier in Fes, with master artisans in white coats working at individual stations surrounded by wooden lasts, marble slabs, rempliage hammers, and traditional leatherworking tools, preserving twelve centuries of Fassi haute maroquinerie.

A family leather atelier in Fes, Morocco

Fes has twelve centuries of Fassi leathercraft. The family atelier behind Lunburg Atelier Services has operated there since 1968.

At Lunburg Atelier Services, product development is not separated from making. Our masters work together with our engineers to apply their construction knowledge throughout development and prototyping, ensuring that the approved design can be produced accurately and consistently.

Planning your project

What is the minimum order quantity?

Our minimum production order is 50 pieces per colour per model.

How are prototyping and development priced?

Prototype and development costs are quoted after we review your brief. We agree the scope of work and charges before development begins.

Are revisions to the prototype included?

Revisions needed to achieve the agreed design are included, with no fixed limit on the number of revisions. Changes to the agreed design or specifications fall outside this scope and are quoted separately.

How long do prototyping and production take?

Prototyping typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on design complexity and material availability. Production timelines are agreed for each project. Urgent projects can be accommodated, with an accelerated schedule agreed before work begins.

Can we sign an NDA before sharing designs?

Yes. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is available before you share designs or confidential project information. We do not publish client projects or images without prior written permission.

Who owns the designs and development materials?

Your designs remain yours. Ownership and handover of project-specific patterns, technical files, prototypes and custom tooling are agreed in your quotation, with the agreed deliverables released after full payment.

Lunburg retains its existing designs, general techniques and workshop equipment.
